Diagnostics waiting times & activity data, month ending 30 September 2010.

The monthly data published today gives the waiting times for 15 key diagnostic tests carried out in the NHS.

Main findings this month

* The number of patients, for whom English commissioners are responsible, waiting over 6 weeks for any one of the 15 key diagnostics tests at the end of September 2010 was 5,700, a decrease of 200 (4.0%) from August 2010, but an increase of 2,300 (67.5%) from September 2009.

* Of the patients waiting at the end of September 2010, 99.0% had been waiting under 6 weeks, up 0.1% from August 2010, but down 0.3% from September 2009.
