The Apple iPhone 5 continues to dominate the smartphone sales charts, despite the launch of a number of impressive competitors in 2013. The ongoing success of Apple's current flagship smartphone has led to increasing speculation about a follow up device.

Currently, we're still awaiting an official confirmation from Apple regarding the next iPhone model. However, it seems that new rumours regarding the device appear on the internet every day. The jury is still out as to whether the next iPhone will be an upgraded iPhone 5S model, or the long rumoured budget iPhone which would allow the California based manufacturer to compete with rival companies like Samsung, in the vast budget smartphone market. Stay tuned for the latest rumours on the iPhone 5S.

The recent announcement of the new iOS 7 update has led to further speculation that next iPhone may be an upgraded model from the current version. However, we will not know for sure until Apple officially announces the device. In the meantime, check out our website to compare the best prices on iPhone 5 deals.

Recently though, more rumours have emerged that the budget iPhone model may be the next to be released. Recently, uSwitch has reported that a Japanese blog has claimed that the next iPhone will be launched in a number of different colour options, which will be the same colours as Apple's official iPhone 4 bumper cases. Joining the standard black and white options will be pink, orange and blue variants, the website reports.

If true, this could suggest that the next iPhone may be a budget model. Of course, an iPhone 5S would be highly likely to have the same appearance, design and styling as the current version, which is only offered in black and white variants.

The next iPhone model being launched in several different colours has been rumoured number several times before. However, there is no way of knowing whether or not this is true until an official announcement is made by Apple, but it is believed that this will take place in the summer, so luckily there is not long to wait.
