Following its launch earlier this year, the HTC One has been one of the most successful smartphone models on the market. Despite production issues leading to delays in its launch and stock shortages, the phone has clocked up impressive sales figures along with receiving widespread critical acclaim and positive feedback from users. A number of websites and publications have even crowned the HTC One as the best smartphone model on the market.
Android Authority reports that the phone has recently picked up another high profile award. The phone received the gold award that the 2013 Computex design and innovation awards, which was held in Taipei (capital of HTC's home country). The phone picked up the award after beating 254 competing entries from mobile technology manufacturers. The award was presented to the company by the president of Taiwan, and the website reports that the phone is now referred to as the ‘pride of Taiwan’.
Of course, the HTC One has won a number of other awards during its relatively short time on the market. Earlier in 2013, the manufacturer’s flagship phone was crowned the best mobile handset, device or tablet at the Global Mobile Awards. The phone is praised for its innovative design, user experience and high-end features. Of course, such praise is excellent news for HTC, which has been struggling with falling revenues and market shares in recent months, after losing much of its customer base to competing manufacturers like Apple and Samsung.
While the device now faces tougher competition thanks to the recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the phone is expected to continue selling well throughout the rest of the year. The impressive spec list of the HTC One makes it easy to see why the phone has received such praise. Key features include a 4.7 inch with 1080p high definition display, 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, 4 Ultrapixel camera and Android Jellybean operating system with HTC Sense 5.0 user interface over the top.
