Jony Ive, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Design, has changed the iOS 7 font to Helvetica Neue, according to a report. This particular change to the software is said to be one of the biggest changes made to iOS.

This is according to the Business insider. The site reports, “In the iOS update, Apple thickened the primary font used throughout the system. Apple is now using Helvetica Neue at a regular weight instead of Helvetica Neue light.

“It may seem like a small difference. It’s not.”

On App.net, a reader writes, “That has to be the biggest design change Apple has done during beta period. Designer Neven Mrgan replies, “Indeed. And good for them. Good for us, too!"

Expect iOS 7 to roll out to devices by fall.
