Earlier in the month Apple's annual World Wide Developers Congress took place where the company highlighted some of the software that we can look forward to over the coming months.  A highlight of the event for many was the introduction of iOS7 which is set to arrive in the autumn but a cheeky Android developer has produced an iOS7 skin that is now available for rival Android devices such as the HTC One.

At the recent WWDC event hosted by Apple we were introduced to a number of forthcoming software developments including the eagerly anticipated iRadio service and OS X Maverick but there is no question that iOS7 was the platform that captured the attention of most of the audience.  The new mobile operating system will be rolled out in the Autumn and features a dramatic redesign that has been overseen by designer Sir Jony Ive.  Following the introduction of the new service a number of experts have criticised iOS7 for being too similar to the rival Android platform from Google.  Despite the criticism users of Apple devices like the iPhone and iPad are eager to try the new package but have to wait a few weeks before they can do so.  Android users of devices like the HTC One can become the envy of their iOS pals thanks to a new skin which has been designed to offer a near identical design to the latest platform from Apple.

jbOS7 is the name of this brand new skin for Android devices like the HTC One and according to CNET, the renowned tech website, the designer goes by the name of Shmogt.  One look at the name of the skin and it is an immediate clue that it is a variation of Apple's newest software.  The designer produced this interface with the help of the Nova Launcher homescreen replacement software by Teslacoil Software.  In an email sent to CNet the designer explained "It is more than just a background image with some icons".  He then went on to add "The theme also has a lock screen as well as two additional screens that act as apps. For example, you press the weather icon and it takes you to the weather screen I designed rather than open the weather app. I tried to add as much iOS 7 feel as possible".  Although we have not seen the interface in the flesh a look at screenshots show that it does very closely resemble iOS from the icons on the display right down to the font type that is used. Android users of devices like the HTC One who want to have a look what  this latest interface skin has to offer can download it right away.  Apple consumer unfortunately will have to wait until September for iOS7 to arrive.
