Labour Party: Cameron needs to get a grip on the Green Investment Bank - Hillier & Denham

John Denham and Meg Hillier MP, Labour's Shadow Business and Energy and Climate Change Secretaries have today written to the Prime Minister to urge him to make a decision on the Green Investment Bank.

Meg Hillier MP said:

“The grip of the Treasury is threatening to suffocate the Green Investment Bank.

“A fully functioning Green Investment Bank has the potential to boost economic recovery and help Britain become a world leader in low-carbon technology.

“We have been waiting for the Coalition government to make up its mind since October. In the meantime we risk losing crucial investment in green industry and green jobs.

“It’s time for the arguing to stop and plans to be put on the table.”

John Denham MP said:

“The Government is paralysed by infighting and inertia. There should be leadership and action on the Green Investment Bank so we can support key green jobs and industries of the future and low carbon economy.”
