We’ve all heard rumours of Nokia planning to launch a Windows Phone 8-powered handset, called the Lumia EOS, sporting a 41-megapixel camera like the PureView 808. Now, new leaked photos give credence to the rumour. The leaked photos show the back casing of the handset sporting a massive hole, suggesting it will sport a 41-megapixel camera.
The leak comes to us courtesy of WPDang (click here to see website), a Chinese website, which was sent to them by a source who wishes to remain anonymous. Examining the photos, you’ll notice that the EOS looks a lot like other Lumia handsets. However, it does come with a massive hole in the back casing. The difference can clearly be seen when the handset it put beside a handset that looks to be the Nokia Lumia 920 (click here to see more on the Nokia Lumia 920). Another photo shows the side of the EOS, showing a massive protrusion. This is another hint that the phone will sport a 41-megapixel camera.
Unfortunately, Nokia is yet to reveal whether the EOS exists or not. So take this with a grain of salt for now. However, since Nokia did release the PureView 808, it makes sense for them to release a phone with the same camera running Windows Phone 8.
According to Nokia, they will be officially unveiling something new this summer. We’re hoping that this upcoming device will be the Lumia EOS.
