The Sony Xperia Z has been one of the most popular smartphone models of 2013. The phone has made a successful year for the Japanese manufacturer, after receiving widespread critical acclaim and positive feedback from users, along with clocking up millions of sales.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra was recently released as a follow up device and Sony's first foray into the phablet market. The device sees the addition of a huge 6.4 inch display and several other upgraded features to allow Sony Mobile to compete with companies like Samsung in the phablet niche. Prior to its announcement, the Xperia Z Ultra was referred to as the Sony Togari. In the months leading up to its announcement, there were widespread rumours about the handset, along with another Sony device called the Xperia Honami. Currently, the latter is yet to be announced but there has recently been new information revealed about its specifications.
GSM Arena has recently reported on leaked information about
the features of the Sony Honami. Apparently, the phone will come with a 5 inch
1080p display, 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 3000mAh battery capacity, 16 GB
of storage, 2 GB of RAM and Android Jellybean operating system. Previous
rumours have suggested that the Sony Honami will be the company's latest high
end camera phone, and it appears that this will be the case as leaked specifications
suggest that the phone will sport a
camera with a 20 megapixel resolution. The phone is also expected to
incorporate an IP57 certification like the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra. This
means that the phone has been officially rated as dust proof, and can be
submerged in up to one metre of water for up to half an hour without sustaining
any damage. For the best prices on the Sony Xperia Z, visit our website where you can also find the latest Sony Honami updates.
Obviously, phones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1020 mean that the Sony Honami will face stiff competition in the high-end camera phone market. However, given the success of the Xperia Z and the reputation of Sony Mobile, we expect it to be a popular device.
GSM Arena has further reported that Sony will unveil by Honami on the 4th of September, at the IFA expo in Berlin.
