Man charged following assault on bus at Queens Square bus station, Liverpool

Detectives investigating an assault on a bus in Queen Square have charged a man in connection with the incident. 

At around 11.10am on Tuesday, 11 June, emergency services were called to Queen Square bus station where it was reported a man had been assaulted on the 10b bus by a man with a screwdriver.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has now been discharged and recovering at home.

A 58-year-old man from Liverpool was later arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and bailed pending further enquiries.

58-year-old Paulin Gjoka of Redcar Street in Anfield has now been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.

He has been kept in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Friday 28 June.
