Sony have released a succession of impressive smartphones in 2013 and it looks as though the Japanese manufacturers portfolio of models is about to get bigger.  We have been hearing reports about an Xperia Togari handset and it has emerged that this model will be named the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.  Images of this model are now circulating online.

The new Sony Xperia Z Ultra handset has been tipped for a July launch and ahead of this event we have now been treated to the first official snap of this new large screened device.  The image was released by Sony themselves inside a pres still for the mode.  Not a huge amount of clues are given away by the new image as it shows a side view of the phone but it does reveal that the new model will have Stylus capabilities.  A number of reports are suggesting that Sony will give the device an edge over the competition by enabling any item to be used as a stylus.  This has yet to be confirmed but there is no doubt that the manufacturers will be wanting to give this handset a unique selling feature to help the model compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note models that currently dominate the market.

The new Sony Xperia Z Ultra is set to be one of the premium models in the company's range of device so as you would expect the specification on the phone looks very impressive indeed.  The stand out feature will no doubt be the large display which is what is sure to attract many consumers.  This screen is set to measure 6.44 inches and deliver superb quality thanks to Full HD 1080P resolution.  This will be backed up by some impressive hardware in the processing department thanks to a Snapdragon 800 chipset.  This will include a quad core processor and 2GB of RAM.  The Ultra is rumoured to be launching with Android 4.2 on board although an update to version 4.3 is a certainty later in the year when the new platform is widely available.  Sony models always excel when it comes to camera facilities so expect great things from the 8 million pixel snapper that will feature on the phone.  Following its release we expect to see some superb contracts for this stylish device emerge.

The new Sony Xperia Z Ultra looks set to be a big hit with consumers and should help the manufacturers to get a foothold in the phablet market which is currently dominated by Samsung.
