With a new update for the Windows Mobile operating system coming soon it is no surprise that we are hearing rumours of potential new handsets that are set to be released to support the new features that will be on offer.  Not surprisingly Nokia seem to be at the centre of most of the speculation but a surprising name has popped up in the form of HTC.  Fresh reports are suggesting that the Taiwanese manufacturers are set to release a Windows version of their best selling HTC One device.

Over the past few months there have been several mentions of a new HTC Windows phone but this rumour has really picked up some pace following the news that the manufacturers are keen to release a device that is a variant of their popular HTC One Android model.  The HTC One has been a big hit with consumers thanks to a critically acclaimed design and some great specification and the model has already sold more than 5 million units.  HTC are apparently already in production stages with the new Windows version and are keen that the model offers a design nearly identical to its Android counterpart.  According to Neowin however there will be some differences between the two models asides from the different operating systems.

HTC are rumoured to definitely be using a premium metallic chassis on the new phone but at this moment in time there have been no confirmed reports on the display size which is believed to be between 4 and 5 inches.  The manufacturers do look set to include an identical camera facility to the Android HTC One device meaning that this model will be capable of capturing images at 4 ultra pixel resolution.  In the coming weeks we will see the new GDR3 Windows update arrive which offers a host of new features including quad core and 1080P support.  These are both features present on the Android version of the HTC One so we expect them to also appear on the forthcoming Windows version of the phone.  Browse the HTCOne on leading UK networks here

We are expecting to see the new HTC One Windows handset arrive before the end of the year and the arrival of such a high profile model is sure to give Windows Mobile a big boost in terms of sales.
