Nokia had just started rolling out the software update on two of the members of the Lumia Series namely Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 this June 27, 2012. As expected, Nokia granted the request of its slightly deflated users in improving the software of these two phones and luckily, Nokia listens. The software upgrade will of course hold amazing additional features to these two phones. Let us see what  Nokia has came up with the help of Windows Phone 7.

Yup! You have read it right. The new software on Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 will grace a Wi-Fi hotspot compatibility, which will allow you to quickly and easily share  mobile internet to a maximum of five other devices. This is the biggest good news on this software update, which was recently confirmed by Nokia’s Vice President Kevin Shields during an in depth interview.

This new camera application fuelled by the Windows Phone 7 will also include smart group shot, action shot, self-timer and panorama shot. This is great news for those who would like a smartphone with a feature filled, yet high quality camera.

One quirky addition to the Lumia 710 and 800, which will be added through the new software upgrade is the “flip to silence” feature which will mute the ringtone of the device when there is an incoming call. This can be done by flipping over the phone where its screen will face the surface of where it is placed.

Now that the new breed of Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 will be sporting new and better software, Nokia has also promised better applications which this software will be able to support. These applications will be ready to be installed on your handset the moment the new software is integrated into your phone.

As the second most expensive and high-end phone in the Lumia series following the Lumia flagship 900, the new Nokia Lumia 800 speaks of a faster, easier and a more fun way to use mobile phones. It has 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitative touch screen which runs on a 512 RAM. You will be able to take high quality pictures with this cool smartphone, as it boasts an 8 mega pixel camera with a high quality Carl Zeiss lens.

With the same screen resolution and size with the Nokia Lumia 800, the Lumia 710 is also protected with a wondeful Gorilla Glass Corning. Additionaly, you will find that this phone boasts an 8 GB internal storage and an expandable external storage through its micro SD slot, thus there is plenty of space for your apps, images and much more. You will alsofind that it has a camera resolution of  5 mega pixel with autofocus, LED flash and quality checker.

Both phones have lived up to the expectations of loyal Nokia fans who have waited ever so patiently not just for the software update through Windows Phone 7, but also for the arrival of these two phones in the market together with its two stablemates Lumia 900 and Lumia 610.  The Lumia Series was released in the latter months of 2011 which was quite a long wait for Nokia’s line of smartphones.
