On the Sony Mobile Facebook page, the Japanese company posted a teaser photo, showing the power-button of an unknown device. It is said that this mystery device is the rumoured Xperia i1 ‘Honami.’
In the photo, a protruding power-button is shown. Other Sony devices that have the same protruding power-button are the XPERIA Z smartphone and the XPERIA Z Ultra smartphone. Also shown in the photo is a curved design, suggesting Sony will get rid of the boxy look in favour of a curvaceous look.
On its Facebook page, Sony says, “It’s the smartphone everyone’s been talking about... not long now,” which suggests that it will soon lift the lid on the handset. We’re guessing Sony will officially unveil the new smartphone at IFA 2013, which will be held in Germany on the 4th of September.
Recently, XDA-developers member DooMLoRD said on Twitter, “Heard an interesting rumor... Xperia Honami might be called Z1 (Z One).”
According to previous reports, the Honami will sport a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1080p display, and a quad-core processor under the hood.
