Photos leak cases for Samsung Galaxy S5 – no fingerprint scanner cutouts

News   •   Feb 06, 2014 09:29 GMT

Previous reports claim that Samsung gave its plans to outfit the Samsung Galaxy S5 an iris scanner the boot. The Korean tech giant instead opted to make their next flagship sport a fingerprint scanner. Photos of cases for the Galaxy S5 have been leaked. What’s interesting about these photos is that they do not have cutouts for the fingerprint scanners. Does this mean that the S5 will not sport the feature?

The photos were leaked by Mobile Fun, a UK based online accessories shop. Click on the link to view photos of the alleged S5 cases.

If you closely at the photos, you’ll that there are no cutouts for the fingerprint scanner. So what does this mean? Does it mean that the feature has been scrapped as well?

It’s possible that the S5’s fingerprint scanner will be integrated into the smartphone’s touchscreen, which is why there is no need for a cutout in the case. However, there’s also a possibility that the feature has been omitted.

Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the Samsung Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014, which kicks off in Barcelona Spain this month. We’ll know by then if Samsung decided to scrap the feature or not.

Will the Samsung Galaxy S5 come with a fingerprint scanner, or will it not come with the feature? Drop a comment below.
