One of the first high-end Android smartphone models to hit the market in 2013 was of course the HTC One. With its stylish design and high-end spec list gaining the handset an enviable reputation and millions of sales, the success of the HTC One has led to plenty of speculation about a new version coming to the market this year.

The HTC One Mini is expected to be a smaller, lower spec that much more affordable version of its flagship counterpart, following the trend of devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy S4 Mini. The handset is likely to sport a similar aluminium chassis to the HTC One, which by far one of its standout features. Although the HTC One Mini is yet to be officially announced by the Taiwanese manufacturer, speculation about its potential features has been mounting in recent weeks.

It is currently believed that the HTC One Mini will come with a 4.3 inch 720p super AMOLED display, Beats Audio support, 4 Ultrapixel camera, 16 GB of expandable storage and Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS with HTC Sense 5.0 UI. Click here for more news on the features of the HTC One Mini.

The jury has been out regarding the processing power of the HTC One Mini. While the majority of rumours have suggested that the phone will come with a dual-core processor, Phones Review has recently reported on a benchmark test carried out on the unannounced device, suggesting otherwise. The test, which was carried out using the GFXBench application shows that the phone will come with a 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which will run alongside an Adreno 305 GPU to power the phone’s display and handle the graphics.

Of course, because the HTC One Mini is yet to be officially announced, we do not know for sure when it will hit the market. However, a number of prominent sources have suggested that it is likely to be made available as early as August. Although sales of the phone are unlikely to be as high as those achieved by the flagship HTC One, its spec list certainly looks capable of rivalling many pricier models, so if the price is right it could be very popular model.
