In recent months, we have seen an increasing number of rumours regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Given the success of the Galaxy Note 2, this hardly comes as a surprise. The device remains a market leader in the phablet niche, clocking up enviable levels of critical acclaim alongside its millions of sales.

The Galaxy Note 3 has been a hot topic in the mobile phone business, with a number of leaked images and specifications appearing online. However, many of these come from questionable sources, but Sammobile has recently reported on some of the latest images of the handset to hit the internet. Of course, Sammobile has proven to be a reliable source when it comes to upcoming Samsung smartphones in the past.

The images show a handset which has a very different design to the original Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note 2, sporting a much squarer design and more angular corners and appears to have a thinner profile. Being a possible prototype in the images, it is likely that the design may change when the phone is released, following its rumoured announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumoured to take place in September, at the IFA event in Berlin.

The website did not post any new information regarding its possible features with the images, and simply recaps previously rumoured specifications. These include a 5.99 inch super AMOLED display, 13 megapixel camera, octa-core or Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.2.2 or Android 4.3 OS and of course of the Galaxy Note's trademark S-Pen stylus.

Phablet smartphones have been steadily increasing in popularity over the last couple of years. Devices like the Galaxy Note 2 are some of the most versatile on the market thanks to huge touch screens, ample processing power and stylus pens.

With plenty of upgraded features on the cards, we certainly expect the Galaxy Note 3 to be a huge success for Samsung. More details regarding its features and availability are likely to be revealed in the coming weeks, so we will be sure to report back with the latest updates and list Samsung Galaxy Note 3 contract offers when it has been announced.
