A report is claiming that the follow-up to the LG G Flex can be bent as much as 90 degrees.

This is according to a report from ZDNET Korea. The site reports, “LG Electronics and LG Display are developing a ‘bendable’ smart phone, planning a next year release. It will allow the user to bend up to 90 degrees with force.

“This ‘bendable’ technology development will be somewhere in between current ‘curved’ technology and ‘foldable’ technology in the future.

“On the 25th (KST), there was a report that LG Display had already gone into setting plans and schedules for mass producing the bendable phone, earlier than Samsung Display.

“LG Electronics and LG Display said that they are working hard to mass produce the display for G Flex and other products. This will be their weapon and strong point for next year. They have also said that they’re currently investing a lot in to the curving technologies.”

Since LG has neither confirmed nor has it denied the report, treat it like just any other rumour for now. However, since LG did say that flexible phones would dominate the smartphone market in a few years, we could see this flexible G Flex next year.
