During the last couple of months, Samsung Mobile has been busy releasing a number of new smartphone models. These of course include the Galaxy S4, which was recently released in a number of additional variants, including the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom. Samsung has also released a couple of new phablet models, offering a more affordable alternative to its flagship Galaxy Note phablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega range consists of two new handsets, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3, with the latter recently being released in the UK. The phones’ names are based on the size of their touch screens, with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 offering a large touchscreen of 6.3 inches. The phones offer largely midrange spec lists, to ensure that the devices are made more affordable. Other key features of the phone includes Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS, 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and an 8 megapixel camera.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 was announced earlier this year, and unveiled in the standard black and white colour options. However, Sammobile has recently reported that a new colour variant of the phone is on the way. The device was recently announced in a new colour option of plum purple, offering a much more eye catching and head turning alternative, which is likely to prove a popular choice for those who want a more colourful handset than the black or white offerings. More details on the new version of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 are available on our website, along with Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 contract offers.

Of course, more and more Samsung smartphones are being released in new colour editions. Last year, the flagship Galaxy S3 saw the addition of several new colour variants, with the new Galaxy S4 flagship given the same treatment with the recent addition of five new colour schemes.

With larger screens on smartphones becoming more and more popular, Samsung will be looking to capitalise on this by offering the Galaxy Mega handsets as a cheaper alternative to its flagship Galaxy Note phablet series.

At the moment, it is unconfirmed whether the plum purple Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be made available in the UK, but we will be sure to let you know if we hear of any updates.
