Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Prices and Features

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini has a lot to live up to due to the regular S3’s success. It isn’t a ‘mini’ as you’d think, though, but maybe it’s a better idea to think of it as a Samsung Galaxy S3 ‘Lite’. It looks the same, although it’s smaller as it has a 4” screen – still, that’s larger than the iPhone 4S – and it still packs some serious technology despite it not being as cutting-edge as its older sister.

Let’s start off with the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini’s operating system. You might think the ‘lite’ version would come with the ageing Gingerbread system but no, it’s got the full-fat Jelly Bean version of Ice Cream Sandwich so you’re bang up to date – even more so than some of the unfortunate SG3 owners that have yet to receive the update. There is a 4” Super AMOLED screen that has 480 x 800 resolution, so it’s still good but it’s not amazing like the Samsung Galaxy SIII. The same goes for the processor, it doesn’t have the quad-core 1.4GHz unit that the Galaxy SIII has but it still packs a punch with the dual-core 1GHz unit.

It comes with a healthy 1GB RAM, an LED flash 5MP camera and 720p video recording capabilities. There is a VGA front-facing camera and it has 8 or 16GB of internal storage and the ability to take 32GB microSD cards. You get WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 as standard too. The device outright will set you back around £300 without a SIM, so you could use GiffGaff, or you can opt for PAYG SIM cards and of course it’s available on contract. To get the best deals on a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini you should still compare mobile phone contracts to get the best price as different retailers and networks charge different prices. In order to get the best mobile phone contract you can use a comparison check like the Mobile Phone Checker website. In seconds you’ll see what you should and shouldn’t pay for the device.

As a rough idea, it’s going to cost around £25 for the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, although if Carphone Warehouse deals are anything to go by you should be able to nab this for a little bit less. You will be able to buy the handset from the 2nd November, so it’s the perfect early Christmas present to yourself or your partner and it’s well-priced to smash the competition out of the way. However, Samsung already owns most of this cheaper end of the market so a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is going to make some of their other handsets in the range obsolete.

Whatever device you chose, whether it is the full-fat, 1.4GHz Samsung Galaxy S3 or the S3 Mini then remember to save money and use a mobile phone contract comparison site such as Mobile Phone Checker. You’d be surprised just how much prices can differ between smartphone retailers and networks.
