After clocking up 10 million sales during its first month on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S4 remains the most talked about smartphone model of the year. While the device is set to be the biggest seller of 2013, a number of other variants of Samsung's latest flagship are on the way.

These include the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which is a smaller, lower spec but much more affordable version of the flagship device. Of course, Samsung made a similar move last year with the Galaxy S3 Mini which was a much more affordable alternative while still including an impressive spec list.

Originally, the Galaxy S4 Mini was thought to be unveiled on June 20th, at the upcoming Samsung Premier event at London's Earls Court. However, Android Authority has recently revealed that Samsung quietly unveiled the device last week so upcoming event is likely to see other Galaxy S4 variants showcased, such as the Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom. The website has revealed the spec list of the Galaxy S4 Mini, with the majority of its features coinciding with previous rumours and leaked spec lists. As expected, the device will be smaller, with a smaller display at 4.3 inches with super AMOLED technology with a qHD resolution. The device packs less processing power, with a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and a downgraded camera resolution of 8 megapixels. All the usual connectivity features are included on the device, with a separate LTE version which also comes with NFC technology. A dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy S4 Mini will also be released, but it is likely to be restricted to certain markets where such phones are popular.

Clearly, many of the hardware features of the device are downgraded from its flagship counterpart, but the phone includes the same software package as the Galaxy S4. This includes Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS, with Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX interface running over the top.

It is expected that the Galaxy S4 Mini will be much more affordable than its flagship counterpart. Combined with its still impressive spec list, are you won over by the Galaxy S4 Mini, or do you still think the flagship Galaxy S4 is worth the higher price?
