Speculation That The iWatch Could Be Released This Year Increases

Recently we have heard a number of reports that suggest that Apple are preparing to launch an army of new products over the Autumn months of this year including the iPhone 5S and the iPad Mini 2.  Another name that we could possibly add to this growing list is the iWatch.  This wearable new technology has been speculated about since the turn of the year and a new discovery suggests that its arrival may be imminent.

It is look very likely that we may see the exciting new iWatch product revealed later this year, possibly alongside the new flagship iPhone 5S smartphone.  This follows a discovery in Japan of a new trademark using the iWatch name, a clear indication that this product is going to be released.  It is believed that the introduction of this device along with the new, budget iPhone Light model is an attempt from the company to increase their presence in the emerging far east markets.  Consumers in these gadget hungry countries traditionally do not have the premium money to spend on devices such as the iPhone 5S so the introduction of cheaper alternatives is key.  There is no word yet on the pricing of the iWatch but it will be considerably less than the price of a new phone device.

Apple are said to have been working on this concept for some while now and the company CEO, Tim Cook, has made no secret about it. At the recent All Things D event he was quoted as saying that the human wrist is a "natural" and "interesting place for such a gadget".  This is another good pointer that APple are working on this technology while also at the same time being a criticism of Google who are working on a similar concept but in the form of eyewear named Google Glasses.  He went on to say "There are lots of gadgets in this space right now, but there's nothing great out there...none of them are going to convince a kid that hasn't worn glasses or a band to wear one. There are a lot of problems to solve in this space. It's ripe for exploration".  We do not know at this time whether the iWatch will be an accessory add on for iPhone handsets or whether it will have its own GSM capabilities meaning that it can make and receive calls.  Check out all the best iPhone5S contracts here

The iWatch is one of the most interesting technology ideas we have heard for some years and we may well see this new device hit the market at around the same time as the iPhone 5S.
