It is well known that this year smartphone manufacturer HTC have been keen to close the gap opened up by Samsung at the top of the Android market.  This has resulted in the Taiwanese company releasing a succession of handset designed to compete against rival Samsung models.  We have heard rumours recently about an HTC One Max device with the Samsung Galaxy Note in its sights and now the new HTC One Mini, a handset similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4, has been tipped for a release this quarter.

Over the past month we have heard rumours increasing with reference to the new HTC One Mini handset and now industry insiders are stating that the model will be launched at some point during this quarter.  Reliable tech site Digitimes have reported this information following details provided to them from supply chains based in Taiwan where the handset is set to be produced.   The reports states that HTC are keen to launch the phone as close as possible to the rival S4 Mini handset which means a launch could happen very soon seeing the the S4 Mini has just hit shelves here in the UK.   The report also goes on to state that the manufacturers are hard at work on a budget smartphone that is set to go head to head with Apple's new iPhone Light when it is released.

The new HTC One Mini is quite obviously set to be a smaller version of the HTC One but the manufacturers are set to downscale some of the internal specification on the phone so that the handset can market at a very reasonable price.  The good news however is that the design is set to stay the same as the HTC One handset which is perhaps the key selling feature of this phone.  Also set to remain unchanged is the camera facility meaning the HTC One Mini will offer high quality 4 ultra pixel resolution.  The aspects of the phone set to be changed however are the screen which will be a smaller 4.3 inch display offering 720P resolution and the processing chip which will be a dual core Snapdragon 400 CPU clocked at 1.4Ghz.  All the best EE offers for the One handset from HTC

The HTC One device has proved a very popular model and HTC will be hoping that the new Mini version emulates this success and proves to be good competition to Samsung's recently released Galaxy S4 Mini handset.
