The Android operating system is now more popular than ever, and thanks to devices like the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3, has even gone on to outsell Apple's iOS powered devices. In this article, I am going to compare a few of key features of the HTC One X the Samsung Galaxy S3, to see which one comes out on top.
HTC and Samsung are two of the biggest smartphone companies in the world. Of course, Samsung is already a household name, as a prolific manufacturer of a wide variety of electronics products. HTC on the other hand remains solely a mobile phone and tablet manufacturer, and is one of the biggest.
HTC and Samsung are largely responsible for the popularity of the Android OS. This is thanks partly to some of their previous best selling models like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Desire. The new handsets like the Galaxy S3 and the One X build on the reputations of these devices and bring them bang up to date with the latest advancements in smartphone technology.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X have some of the best smartphone touchscreens we have ever seen. The screen of the Galaxy S3 measures 4.8 inches, which is slightly larger than the 4.7 inch screen of the One X. They both incorporate some of the best smartphone technology to date and are able to display high definition content thanks to the HD resolutions of 720x 1280. Another one of the most notable features of these phones is their processors. Both handsets are among the first to incorporate quad-core processors, for outstanding performance. The Galaxy S3 has a 1.4 GHz processor, whereas that of the HTC One X has a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. This makes them among the most powerful smartphones on the market, and users will notice benefits across every aspect of the handset's performance.
As cameraphones, they are also well equipped thanks to 8 pixel cameras which are able to capture HD video footage in resolutions of up to 1080p which is the highest resolution for high definition. The cameras on both phones also have a number of innovative features not found on many other handsets, such as the ability to simultaneously capture photos and video footage.
These phones are among the first from their manufacturers showcase the latest version of the Android operating system known as ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’. In addition to this, they also run their manufacturers’ respective Android interfaces. The One X has the HTC Sense UI, whereas the Galaxy S3 has the Samsung TouchWiz UI, both of which offer an alternative aesthetic to the stock Android interface and further customisation options, multiple homescreens and widget functionality.
As you can see, both handsets are packed with super features but there is of course much more to both phones than I have covered in this article. Look out for my upcoming articles where I will compare more features of these impressive devices.
