The Nokia Lumia 1020 has been one of the most talked about smartphone models in recent months. The handset is rumoured to be one of Nokia's most advanced camera phones to date, with a 41 megapixel PureView sensor which will really set the handset apart from the competition.
Several leaked images of the Nokia Lumia 1020 have appeared online in recent weeks. GSM Arena has recently reported that the device has appeared in its first official press shots. The photos show the handset in three colour options, with a yellow option joining the more standard black and white options. Of course, Nokia has reputation for offering its smartphone models in a number of bright colour options, so the Lumia 1020 certainly looks like it will continue this trend. The overall design of the phone looks very similar to devices like the Lumia 920, with the same slim profile, basic form factor and angular corners. The back of the handset is dominated by a large camera housing, to house the device’s groundbreaking camera features.
The device is set to sport a 41 megapixel PureView camera
sensor with Carl Zeiss optics and an all new Nokia Pro Cam application, so the
device will certainly be able to hold its own against competing high-end camera
phones. It will put Nokia in a great position to rival devices like the Samsung
Galaxy S4 Zoom with its 16 megapixel camera and the upcoming Sony Honami which
is believed to sport a 20 megapixel camera. The latest news on the Nokia Lumia 1020 is available here, along with price comparison of Nokia Lumia 925 contracts.
Of course, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is expected to boast a number of other impressive specifications. Rumours have suggested that it will be the first Lumia device with a quad-core processor, with a number of sources also suggesting that it will sport a ClearBlack AMOLED display, wireless charging and Windows Phone 8 operating system.
This Thursday, Nokia will be holding a press event in New York where it is expected that the phone will make its official debut. When the Lumia 1020 has been unveiled we will report back with all the latest details regarding its features, pricing and availability.
