Tower Hamlets, London Borough of (London): Hajj help

News   •   Oct 29, 2010 12:51 BST

Important information for Muslim residents that are about to embark on their Hajj pilgrimage is available in a special leaflet produced by Tower Hamlets Council.

The Hajj is the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. In recent years issues have arisen as bogus tour operators have falsely sold pilgrimages, leaving many people out of pocket and bitterly disappointed.

The leaflet which is also available online, provides pilgrims with information on booking trips, what to do before they leave and contact details to report any issues or find out more information.

The information can also be used to help Muslims book and organise Umrah – a smaller pilgrimage that can happen at anytime during the year.

To find out more information contact the council’s Trading Standards Team on 0207 364 5008 or email tradingstandards@towerhamlets.gov.uk
