The HTC One X is a superb new smartphone that is one of our favourite models to have been released in 2012. There is another model due to be unveiled very soon that will rival and possibly exceed what this premium HTC model can offer. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 is the successor to the popular Galaxy S2 and is set to offer a wealth of excellent facilities. We see how this model may match up against the One X in the processing department and for camera features.
The HTC One X is the most powerful smartphone that HTC have ever produced. The handset features an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor which is clocked at 1.5Ghz. This chip boasts quad cores which makes it perfect for multi tasking as each core of the processor can be dedicated to performing a single task. This type of processor makes the operation speed of the device very fast even when single tasks are being performed. Web browsing should not place much demand on a processor but modern sites may require multi media features to be activated and connectivity options. The quad core processor means that these additional services are handled much more efficiently. An impressive Nvidia Geforce ULP graphics processing unit accompanies the processor to ensure the device can handle the most demanding games titles currently available. The Samsung Galaxy S3 will run on the next generation of Samsung own Exynos chipset. Last years this setup managed to overshadow most of its rivals thanks to the superb speed that it offered and we expect this new setup to offer equally as impressive speeds. It is expected that the model will run on a quad core processor which is also clocked at 1.5Ghz although some reports suggest that the chip may offer 1.7Ghz. The HTC One X impresses in this area but we expect the new Exynos chipset used on the S3 to be the very best on the market.
The HTC One X includes a very impressive camera feature that eclipses what many rival handsets can offer. The model offers a dedicated camera chip which is something we have not seen included on any other device. This chip enables users to capture a still photograph while recording video footage at the same time. A BSI sensor helps to produce great detail on all photographs and an 8 mega pixel resolution helps to contribute towards the overall quality that is on offer. In terms of video capture the models offers Full HD footage at 1080P resolution. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to include a high quality camera capable of recording images at 12 mega pixel resolution. This should put the model ahead of many of its rivals in this department. 1080P video capture will also be supported by the model. A host of additional features will be present to ensure superb results including an LED flash and image stabilisation for both still photos and video footage.
The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are set to be two of the leading smartphones for 2012. Quad core processors will make operation speeds very impressive while both devices will include premium camera features. Although the Samsung Galaxy S3 will offer the higher camera resolution the HTC device benefits from the dedicated photography chip.
The HTC One X is available now and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon.
