The HTC One X+ is being tipped to be the best, fastest and smartest smartphone on the market, and judging by the stats it will be better than the Samsung Galaxy S3. Of course, the iPhone 5 is the most talked about smartphone on the market right now but it will be up against some stiffer competition. Still, people are buying the Samsung Galaxy SIII as shown by the sales figures from September outweighing the iPhone 5.
When the HTC One X+ hits the shops, mobile phone contract comparison site Mobile Phone Checker will be able to show you the best deals from around the country. This is a great way of ensuring you’re getting the best price as most new handsets have a serious premium added to them. If you’re thinking of a new smartphone for Christmas then you’re wise to wait a little while and see what else will be on the market. If you’re adamant that you want an Android phone and not an iPhone 5, then the HTC One X+ is certainly going to be a direct competitor to the Galaxy S3.
If you check out the comparisons between the two then you’ll see why. Let’s start at the processor: the Galaxy SIII has a Cortex A9 1.4GHz quad-core processor that is simply incredible for a smartphone. However, the HTC One X+ has a 1.7GHz quad core processor called the Tegra 3. It’s apparently 60% faster than the One X, which was no slouch on its own.
The display is something that people make their decision about a new smartphone. The Galaxy S3 has a Super AMOLED HD screen that spans 4.8”. It has 306ppi and 1280 x 720 screen resolution. It’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The HTC One X+ however has a Super IPS LCD2 screen that is 4.7” and has similar stats with the 312ppi and 1280 x 720 resolution. It too comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and when compared side by side the differences are minimal.
In terms of storage, there is a either a 16GB or 32GB amount of space for the Galaxy S3 although it does have expandable storage and there is still the 32GB to be released. There is no microSD card on the One X+ but there is the option of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Obviously, you can simply back it up with an online storage service such as Dropbox if 64GB isn’t enough for you.
Cameras for both phones are impressive. The Galaxy S3 has an 8MP unit that has HDR mode, smile detection and 1080p video recording. The HTC One X+ is also 8MP and it has 720p for video calling, as well as 1080p on the rear camera. Both phones are available with ICS or Jelly Bean and there is nothing in it in terms of weight and size.
