Samsung, it could be argued, has the smartphone industry licked. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 is incredible. It’s fast, looks great, works exceptionally well and is reasonably priced for the UK market. It’s up against top competition with the new iPhone 5 but Google wants to play and is bringing out the new LG Nexus 4 soon. We hear on the 29th October exactly what the specs for the LG Nexus 4 are but we know that it will run on Jelly Bean, unless 4.2 is available, and it has the potential to rock Samsung’s easy route in the smartphone market.
We all know the Samsung Galaxy SIII’s specs but just to recap; Corning Gorilla Glass 2, 4.8” Super AMOLED HD screen running at 720 x 1280 resolution and a 720p video. There is an 8MP camera and 1.9MP on the front, with the 1080p HD video recorder on the rear of the case. Storage is 16, 32 or 64 with the option of a microSD card too. The LG will only have 16GB! The Samsung comes with a 1.4GHz Exynos processor that has quad-cores and 1GB RAM. There is a 2100mAh battery and it runs on Android’s latest Jelly Bean operating system
The LG on the other hand could well have 2GB RAM, a 1.5GHz processor or a 2GHz quad-core unit, and it should have an amazing camera or either 8MP or higher. It will run on 4.2 Android, we think, and will be the first to get the upgrade over the rivals. With Google entering the market even more strongly than last time and without its common partner Samsung, it shows that the new LG will be pitted directly against the Samsung Galaxy S3, so the technical specifications could be even better than what we’ve garnered.
Of course, lips are tightly shut before the 29th October so we’ll just have to wait another week to find out but the chances are that it will be a shock to the system. With Christmas coming up and Google finding ways to promote its own products through search engines, Google shopping and using Google Play, you can guarantee it will sell very well. If the Nexus 7 is anything to go by it could feature all of this incredible technology but be sold at a much discounted price compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and indeed the iPhone 5.
We’re champing at the bit to hear what prices they are going to sell at, as it is of particular interest because of our mobile phone contract comparison. We have a wide range of ways to compare the best deals on mobile phones and we are the only comparison site to feature PAYG SIM cards against each other. So, if you’re looking for a cheap mobile phone contract and think that the Samsung Galaxy S3 deals or LG Nexus 4 is the phone for you then don’t hold back and get your order in soon before stock levels drop like we saw with the iPhone 5.
