DHL is increasing its presence at Oslo Airport with the launch of a new direct service from today, September 8th.

At noon today, the new Oslo Airport was officially opened, courtesy of Minister of Transport and Communications, Ketil Solvik-Olsen. Norway’s main airport opened within budget and on time. The increased capacity is at approx. 32 million passengers annually.

Yesterday marked the start of the "Connecting Norway" trial project at Oslo Airport. Passengers arriving from abroad with a connecting flight in Norway will no longer have to collect their luggage in the baggage hall and recheck their bags. Minister of Transport and Communications Ketil Solvik-Olsen visited the airport today to check out the new system.

(Gardermoen, 27 April 2015) After breaking ground in 2011, over two-thirds of the expansion project encompassing new taxiways and aprons, a new arrivals and departures hall, new railway station and new pier is finished. When the "new" Oslo Airport opens its doors on 27 April 2017, its annual capacity will have been increased to 28 million passengers.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines today launched a series of around 80 biofuel flights from Oslo to Amsterdam operated with an EMBRAER 190. The flights are marking yet another step in the right direction towards phasing in jet biofuel in the aviation industry.
