The Swedish company Plantagon International, creator of the Plantagon Greenhouse for urban agriculture, is in the finals for the Red Herring Top 100 Global Award. The Red Herring editorial team has selected the most innovative and promising companies from a pool of thousands from all over the world. The winners will be announced November 29 in Los Angeles.

Plantagon was named the winner of a Silver Stevie Award in the "Most Innovative Company in Europe" category in The 9th Annual International Business Awards on August 15th, 2012. The award is recognizing product or business innovation in the past year. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.

The MOU states that Plantagon and the University will cooperate regarding research on town-planning issues. The new offer Urban Agriculture, is a new way to cultivate food by building vertical greenhouses that reduce transport costs and emissions.
