The City of Stuttgart has signed Opening Rights with Plantagon for developing a Plantagon Greenhouse in the city, for vertical farming in urban areas. The document was signed by Dr. Wolfgang Schuster, Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, and Plantagon CEO Hans Hassle, during the Economist Conference "Future Cities - Creating tomorrow’s urban world" in Stockholm, October 18th 2011 - October 19th 2011.

Plantagon has signed a letter of intent with the Botkyrka municipality in Sweden for establishing a vertical greenhouse. The project has received funding from the Swedish government's Clean-tech Initiative, the Delegation for Sustainable Cities. Construction is planned to begin in 2012.

This is a short list of 15 sorts of Asian leafy vegetables that we plan to grow in the Plantagon Greenhouse. At the moment we are planning a crop that does not have to be harvested subsequently, does not have to be bound and does not need to be put in a dark room for planting. That is why leafy greens are suitable.
Why should a tomato fly 10,000 km? We believe that The Plantagon Greenhouse will change the way we produce ecological and functional food dramatically.
