“Freibad” – a German word that usually means an outdoor pool but has been coined here to symbolise freedom in what was once the smallest room in the house. Besides advocating more acceptance for barrierfree bathrooms, the motto also calls for the necessary freedom to implement new bathroom concepts in which it is users’ needs that determine the design.
