AEJ Give Security Aid To Independent Film Project

Press Release   •   Jun 20, 2013 19:41 BST

A Romford based film project has been given some security coverage by AEJ Facility Management.

Death Walks is a psychological horror tale from new director Spencer Hawken. The film revolves around the zombie invasion of an East London Shopping Centre. The unique aspect about this project however is that the film is a completely zero budget affair.

Spencer Hawken said "We are not so much as reinventing the wheel as we are turning it a bit, everyone involved in the movie from the principal cast, to the film crew, sound recordists and extras are giving their time voluntarily because they are passionate about the project. This is not crowd funding, this is resource funding, everyone giving something to make the movie a beautiful vision." But it's not just the concept behind the film that's different continues Spencer "This is not the blood soaked horror tale you have come to expect from a zombie film, we have something quite different here, our zombies look different, they act different, and there are numerous twists to make the experience an enjoyable one."

To ensure the safety of the 300+ cast and crew involved in the project Operations Manager of AEJ Mike Ludlow said "It's a very different project and a lot of fun, but the safety of those involved must be paramount."

Spencer went cap in hand to AEJ for help after securing The Mercury Mall as a shooting location for the movie. "Having been able to secure The Mercury due to the property owners passion for helping independent projects, it soon became evident that we would need a strong security presence onsite and AEJ were an obvious choice, because of their relationship with The Mercury's owners. We now can relax knowing that the health and safety of every single participant is secure."
