Supply chain compliance specialist Altius Vendor Assessment has taken a top honour in the i-FM Technology in FM Awards – winning the commercial category.
The 2014 Technology in FM Awards recognise outstanding practice in the delivery of business benefits from new information and communication technologies applied in the facilities management sector.
Awards judge Simon Iatrou said: “The judges were impressed by the clarity of the business case put forward by Altius, the clear benefits it provides customers, and the transformational nature of the technology, which helps organisations move away from the box-ticking that pervades through compliance culture.”
Altius’ cloud-based supply chain compliance software, and its management services are used by FM providers such as Bellrock, Facilities Service Group and MML to assess and accredit contractors operating in high risk environments. The Altius system has also been adopted by other leading companies, such as Boots, Morrisons, Selfridges, Debenhams, Airbus and Arcadia Group.
The Altius compliance software can manage many parameters – from health and safety and commercial health – to bribery and corruption policies, CSR, quality, customer service, employment and environmental law, and information and data security.
Gary Plant, Managing Director of Altius, said: “We are very proud to receive a prestigious Technology in FM Award for our market leading supply chain compliance system. Our technology is proven to help organisations reduce risk and liability, while cutting costs and saving staff time. As such, managers can get on with developing their supply chain rather than getting bogged down in cumbersome manual processes and spreadsheets.”
Simon Iatrou added: “The Altius technology enables businesses to take a far
more proactive approach to compliance and health & safety management by
giving them the opportunity to tailor the service to their specific and
It is much more important to judge the ROI of a piece of technology in the commercial sector, because that’s directly related to its core purpose and the business’ raison d’etre,”
Winners of the other two awards categories were BAM FM, who received the award for Operational excellence and ATOM, who won the Communication & Customer Service award.
The awards were presented at the Workplace Futures Conference by Andrew Targell, Director, Global Workplace Solutions at Compass Group PLC. Compass took top honours in the awards in 2010.
