Appeal following two knifepoint robberies of Southampton convenience stores

We are appealing for witnesses or information after knifepoint robberies at two Southampton convenience stores on the same day.

The first incident occurred at 6.27pm at the One Stop Shop in Peartree Avenue on May 18.

The second incident occurred almost immediately after at the Bishops News Market in Bishops Road.

It is believed the two offenders may have been using a dark coloured vehicle, possibly black or green and similar to a VW Polo Mark 5.

Did you see anything suspicious in these locations before or after these crimes took place? The car would have been travelling at speed.

A man in his 20s from Waterlooville has been arrested and charged in relation to both robberies and with possessing a bladed article.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Portsmouth Crown Court in June.
