Appeal for witnesses following Lymington burglary

Press release   •   Jun 28, 2019 13:01 BST

We’re appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a house in Lymington.

We were called at 1.45pm on Wednesday, June 26, following the burglary at an address in Snooks Lane.

A black Range Rover parked at the address was stolen along with a locked cabinet containing three licenced firearms. No ammunition was taken.

Enquiries so far have revealed that three people were seen arriving at the property in a grey or blue BMW 3 series estate.

Detective Sergeant Simon Price said: “At this stage we believe that this was a targeted burglary which has seen three shotguns and the Range Rover stolen.

“Our priority is to locate these items and we have a number of officers working on this investigation to recover them as soon as possible.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a grey or blue BMW 3 series in the area that day, or the Range Rover, which has a registration that ends ALS, since it was stolen.

“If you have been approached and offered similar items for sale then please get in touch. Any information you have could really help with our investigation.”

He added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to remind anyone who has licenced firearms in their homes to double check that they are locked up and in a secure place.”
