We are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a single vehicle collision on the A331 near North Camp.
Officers were called to the scene on the northbound carriageway, prior to the A3011 junction, shortly after midnight this morning (Wednesday 17 April), but the collision itself could have happened much earlier.
A silver Peugeot 206 had left the carriageway and collided with trees.
The driver, a 29-year-old man from Tongham, Surrey, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Formal identification procedures remain ongoing at this time.
The road was closed by police overnight but was subsequently handed over to the local highways agency, so it should be open shortly.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw this vehicle on the road any time between 10:20pm last night and twenty past midnight this morning.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting Operation Data.
