Apple iPhone 5 is the latest flagship device of the Cupertino based company. Its designing reminds of the first iPhone that carries a metallic body. This smartphone features 4G LTE, a much larger screen, turn by turn navigation and a faster processor. The designing of this handset is slim and sharp from top to bottom making it lighter to carry on your palms.
The company has rebuild iPhone with this particular device by introducing a framework of new features that are addressing towards its major shortcomings. Looking at the build, we can say that this phone is one of the best handset by Apple up to the date. At 112 g weight, iPhone 5 is much lighter in comparison to its predecessor 4S. It becomes thinnest, lightest and slimmest smartphone ever standing at 123.8 X 58.6 X 7.6 mm dimensional measurement.
Although, people all over are demanding for more screen to play with but Apple decided to stick to the same 4 inch display on this handset which is more thumb friendly. This is a LCD capacitive touchscreen showing about 16 M colors and capable of giving 640 X 1136 pixels resolution along with pixel density of 326 ppi.
Apple wants to keep its hold in providing one handed touch around the whole display. Apart from this, the power button on the phone is still out of reach which is centered at the top left hand corner of the screen. The micro arc oxidized back and the rounded lines on this handset don’t beat the beauty of HTC One X but stand it in second position. There is a non removable Li-Ion 1440 mAh battery which provides an improved performance.
The iPhone 5 is packed with Apple’s own A6 chipset along with 1 GB RAM which is claimed as 2 times more powerful than the iPhone 4S. It is cloaked with 930 ms speed in Sunspider which is considered as the best score for a mobile device. The 4G LTE connectivity boosts its speed and makes it run up to 100 Mbps. It runs on iOS 6 which can be upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 with PowerVR SGX 543 MP3 graphics.
There is an eight mega pixel camera with LED flash that produces great quality in day light but suffers noise in low light conditions. It enables users to take image and record HD videos simultaneously. The rear camera thus remains impressive clicking high quality pictures in bright conditions. Apple has provided a much bigger virtual camera button and has also improved video stabilization.
Face recognition feature allows detecting faces and along with auto focus it captures still images while recording video. The video compression algorithm for this handset has also improved which now reduces the size of footage file and provides with friendly e-mail attachments. The major improvement has been brought to the secondary camera of the phone upgrading it to 720 pixels providing clear Skype and Face time.
