BERKELEYS says ‘Get On Your Bike’ for Estate Agency Foundation Charity

Press Release   •   Aug 02, 2012 09:54 BST

BERKELEYS, a member of The Guild of Professional Estate Agents (The Guild), is taking part in the Zoopla Great British Property Cycle Ride, pedalling from POOLE to WEYMOUTH (relaying between Guild member agents) on Monday 27th August in aid of the Estate Agency Foundation (EAF), a charity dedicated to eliminating the causes of homelessness.

Berkeleys will be joining Guild Director Jon Cooke, and Guild Member Sean Newman for part of the journey as they take on the ultimate challenge of cycling the entire 3,000 miles of the route around the coast of the UK. The Guild is proud to be associated with such a fantastic cause in such a visible and powerful way, and this is perfect timing after Bradley Wiggins’ fantastic win in the Tour de France and the Olympic sailing events in Weymouth.

The Great British Property Cycle is a 32 stage cycle event, taking place from the 28th July until 28th August covering 3,000 miles in total around the coast. As a member of The Guild, Berkeleys automatically becomes an ambassador of the Estate Agency Foundation for the Poole area whereby we can help raise money for the EAF.

The cycle event will see Guild members from around the UK come together to support this charity. John Jennings from Berkeleys Property Agents will cycle from Poole to the next Guild office along the route - Roger McGhee Estate Agents in Weymouth. They will then take over and so on, to join the continuous ‘Guild Relay’ around England and Wales until the end of the route scheduled for 28th August in Exeter.

John Jennings says “Our agency is always keen to get involved in local community events and I am proud to be taking part in this personal cycle challenge whilst raising money for the EAF along the way. A Guild representative will be driving ahead at each stage of the event to prepare refreshments at every Guild office pit stop which is a great way to highlight the teamwork of our 680 Guild member offices nationwide.”

Guild Director Jon Cooke, who is organising the event, is taking-on the ultimate challenge of cycling the full 3,000 miles over the 32 stages. The Guild team is expected to make a pit stop at the Berkeleys office in Canford Cliffs on Sunday 26th August. Jon Cooke says; “It is going to be a very demanding couple of weeks both physically and psychologically but to see so many familiar faces from across the Guild network along the way will be great encouragement. I would like to personally thank all the Guild agents taking part in the event for their help and support in raising money for a very worthy cause close to many estate agents’ hearts.”

The target is to raise £100,000 with the help of those working in the property industry from this testing event. For more information or to make a donation to the EAF please visit
