17th August 2012 - Bruichladdich Distillery has appointed SouthTrade International as their exclusive importers to Australia.
Progressive Hebridean Distillers
Bruichladdich are the progressive Hebridean distillers, an innovative distillery
with a refreshingly free spirit in an industrial sector.
Here, there is an unlikely marriage of progressive ideas and traditional distilling, manual 19th century equipment and wine trade influences producing both elegant un-peated Islay single malt whisky and the most heavily peated whiskies the world has ever seen.
Provenance, Traceability and Authenticity
The company produce natural whisky - neither coloured nor chill-filtered, and Islay bottled - providing ultimate provenance, traceability and authenticity.
750,000 litres are distilled annually from exclusively Scottish barley uniquely sourced from 28 farms, roughly half organically & biodynamically grown, and half grown on the Isle of Islay itself for the first time in century.
Bruichladdich's David Keir says, "We are passionately committed to producing the finest, truly artisanal, most thought-provoking single malt whisky, of flawless provenance and utmost integrity."
Bruichladdich was designed as a state-of-the-art distillery in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, from an established Glasgow whisky family. Most of the original equipment is still in use today including the oldest still in Scotland.
"Bruichladdich is 100% Islay" says Tony Stubley Director and Principal of SouthTrade. "From barley to barrel to bottle this is Islay single malt from the Hebridean island made by local people. Nothing else can capture the character of this iconic area. It is a perfect fit with our existing portfolio."
Initially SouthTrade will be launching Bruichladdich Rocks, 10 year old, Organic, Laddie Classic, Black Art 22 year old, and The Botanist Gin which is also crafted from native Islay botanicals.
