C&K, which already installs solar PV for both public and private sector organisations throughout the UK, underwent a full assessment of its management systems and installation process by NICEIC,
an official UKAS accredited body who provide Green Deal certification, to obtain this status.
The Green Deal, set up by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, supports the introduction of energy measures to all buildings. Private tenants, landlords, homeowners and business
owners will be able to invest in energy efficient improvements without paying any large upfront costs.
In order to become an approved Green Deal Installer, the organisation must be fully trained, accredited and must adhere to the government defined Code of Practice.
Stuart Leggat, Technical Director at Campbell & Kennedy said, “Solar is such an integral part of what we do at C&K. We provide solar PV installations for many of our clients, the majority of which are social housing providers, so it was only natural that we became an approved Green Deal installer in order to help our clients help their tenants.”
Campbell & Kennedy have completed some of the largest solar PV and LED Lighting installations for social housing clients throughout the UK. In addition, the company has three other divisions and provides electrical contracting and fire protection equipment installations as well as their traditional aerial and satellite TV installation services.
