The Central Office of Information (COI) has radically overhauled its framework (roster) of live event agencies.

The Central Office of Information (COI) has radically overhauled its framework (roster) of live event agencies.

A total of 125 agencies from across the UK secured a place on one or more of the ten lots.  Over 65% of these are new to the framework.

COI’s Live Events team thoroughly evaluated over 1300 individual applications and reviewed thousands of CVs and case studies during the review.  The successful agencies were selected on the basis of their proven expertise and experience in one or more of the following specialisms:

1.      Live Event Production

2.      Experiential

3.      Creative Design, Development & Management of Events, Exhibitions & Roadshows (excluding conference and conference related activity)

4.      Facsimiles

5.      Event Multi Media Production Services

6.      Events Interactive Technology

7.      Audio Visual ( AV) Services

8.      Writing and Transcription Services

9.      Scenic

10. Audio Visual System Design and Integration

The framework has been divided into lots and labels to meet the requirements of the Public Contract Regulations 2006 which requires that all suppliers "capable of performing the proposed contract" are invited to compete for each piece of business. Briefs can be issued across a number of lots and labels as well as single lots and labels, depending on requirements.

This allows agencies to compete for government and public sector work without the requirement for a lengthy procurement process for every contract.

Simon Hughes, Director of Live Events, said:

“We had a fantastic response for this review and I really appreciate all the hard work that everyone involved had to put in.

We've extended the range of suppliers on the framework in order to both focus our procurement processes and give our clients greater choice and flexibility.

My team are really looking forward to working with the new framework agencies in what will be a challenging period. We're very confident that we have the best mix of talent to help us devise great event solutions for our clients over the next few years.“

The Live Events framework, worth more than £12 million per annum, was last reviewed in 2005. The new framework becomes operational today.
