Starting a new business is no easy feat, CMA Global have devised a list of top tips to help realize their dreams:

1.) Don’t hamper on sleep

Running is business can be stressful, its similar to running a long distance race. You need to put all your effort into the planning for weeks if not months. You’ll often become drained and tired. It's important that you get the right amount of sleep. The quality of your planning and work will often decline the more sleep deprived you become

2.) Its ok to take time away from your inbox

Using email is undoubtedly one of the most effective ways in which to communicate with staff and clients. However, it's a common trait that people tend to spend way too much time scrolling through their inbox. Plan your days and weeks ahead and set aside time to check and respond to emails. Your productivity will improve as a result.

3.) Plan time to “think

It’s often easy to fall into a routine of doing tasks when and as the business requires, however, this can sometimes lead to business owners losing sight of the bigger picture as they don’t look at the business from different perspectives. Try to leave yourself 30 minutes to an hour to help you think and develop a plan for your next step.

4.) Develop your beliefs.

To be a success individuals must believe in what they’re doing and know exactly why they’re doing it. If there is a failure to do so, its often business owners find themselves feeling demotivated and overwhelmed every-time they hit an obstacle.

Ideally, spend 10-15 minutes each week reminding yourself of why you’re doing what you’re doing. Keep your mission statement close to you at all times, read it and see if you’re still aligned with what you set out to achieve.

“I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love” - Steve Jobs.

5.) Stop thinking with emotion

Decisions that are based emotionally can often be made erratically and while ill-informed. DO NOT make decisions when you’re feeling down, anxious or sad as they can cloud your judgment. Every action costs time and money make sure you’re not wasting them in your decisions.

6.) Cluttered workspace = Cluttered mind

Plain and simple, if your workspace is a mess you’re not going to be able to work as efficiently as you’d like. More time will be wasted trying to find documents or things of relevance. Not only can papers muck up your workspace, but it's also important to clear your smart devices and computers of unwanted apps, desktop icons and files cluttering up your documents.
