Owner and founder of educational children’s music group Rhythm Time, Kathy Doolan, is celebrating after her Solihull music classes for pre-school children were voted the very best in Birmingham and Solihull.
The baby, toddler and pre-school classes, which use music to stimulate a child’s development, won the top prize in the national awards from the UK’s biggest parenting site Netmums.com.
Rhythm Time were voted top out of dozens of other pre-school activity classes in the Birmingham area and will be listed as the area’s best on the Netmums website.
Their children’s music classes run in several venues including Solihull, Dorridge, Dickens Heath and Shirley. Mums praised the classes for being friendly and the highlight of their children’s week.
Kathy will receive a winning certificate from local Netmums Editor Caroline Evason along with other Netmums prizes.
Over a million mums were able to vote, making these the UK’s biggest parenting awards.
“It’s wonderful to be nominated and fantastic to win,” says Kathy. “So many of our parents tell us that we’re the best children’s music class they’ve been to, and this award really does show that they genuinely love what we do! The voters are those people who come to classes, so a big thank you to all our mums, dads, grandparents and carers who voted for us.”
Netmums founder Siobhan Freegard added: “Pre-school classes are one of the very best ways to bond with your child and provide hours of fun for all the family. We were very impressed by the high standard of classes across Birmingham and Solihull, and Rhythm Time was definitely a very worthy Gold Winner.”
Rhythm Time offers three age-appropriate classes – music classes for babies (birth to 14 months), music classes for toddlers (15 months to three years) and music classes for pre-schoolers (three years to school age). NOTES TO EDITOR:
Founded in 2000 Netmums is the UK’s biggest parenting website.
With over 1.2 million members and five million visits every month it is the UK’s busiest social networking and information site for parents.
The site hosts over 151 local websites and 500 national meet-up groups for mums. Each year over three and a half million parents are supported by Netmums specially trained teams of parenting experts, including staff from Relate, Women’s Aid and the Family Rights Group. The site also provides one-to-one support for more than 30,000 of the UK’s most vulnerable mums each year
Rhythm Time was started in Solihull in 1995 by Kathy Doolan who is a firm believer in the power and importance of music for babies, toddlers and preschool chidlren.
Rhythm Time Solihull achieved the top gold prize in the Awards within the Birmingham Netmums area.
Rhythm Time is a really enjoyable experience for babies and young children, but it is much more than just a sing-along. Each age-related course has been specifically written by the owner and founder, Kathy Doolan (previously Head of Music at a Scottish school) and uses a variety of exciting songs and activities to help a child's development and life skills.
We instil in children a love and understanding of music from an early age. However, when you are involved in educating young children, it is very important that they have lots of fun during the lessons.
Children learn in different ways and are also at different stages developmentally. With this in mind and to enhance their experience in the classes, Rhythm Time offers different courses: music classes for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolchildren.
