Colombia dairy food market: COP 11.5 trillion industry by 2017

The Colombia dairy food market is suggested to have reached a value of over COP 7 trillion by the beginning of 2007, and is estimated to have hit a valuation of just under COP 9 trillion in 2012. From here the industry is predicted to reach a total in 2017 of around COP 11.5 trillion.

Between 2007 and 2012 the Colombia dairy food market grew at a CAGR of 4.6%, and is predicted to increase to a CAGR of 5.5% for the forecast period of 2012 and 2017. In terms of categories, 'Milk is the run away leader, with over three times more market share than the second placed category 'Butter & Spreadable Fats'. Despite this, the fastest growing category in Colombia's dairy food market is forecast to be 'Yoghurt', which is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 7.71% during the forecast period.
