Colt Engineering is celebrating the launch of its new painting and decorating division after being awarded a project to decorate the redevelopment of Willow House in Derby.
Colt Engineering, based on Wyvern Business Park in Derby, has launched a new painting and decoratingdivision as part of the firm’s latest expansion plans and begins its first contract on January 18 to paint anddecorate 11 new apartments at Willow House in Derby.
NJ Industries is the main contractor and is converting the former probation office on Huntingdon Green in to ten one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment to bring more affordable housing to the area.
Marcus Doherty has been appointed as head of the new division and is project manager at Willow House. He said: “I am absolutely delighted to be given such a fantastic opportunity to lead this new division. It is testament to Colt Engineering that the firm is looking to expand in this direction and represents strong plans for future growth.”
“This is a fantastic project to get the ball rolling. We will be carrying out a complete overhaul of the new 11 apartments and painting and decorating them from top to bottom, working closely with NJ industries.”
Colt Engineering was awarded this two-month contract following a tender process after previously working with NJ Industries on a project in High Wycombe when the firm installed heating, ventilation and plumbing into a social housing development.
Simon Colton, managing director at Colt Engineering said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to expand the business with the launch of this new painting and decorating division and it highlights the plans for future growth at the company.”
“Painting and decorating goes hand in hand with our M&E services, we are already designing the electrics and lighting so it makes sense to start decorating the final product as well. We have already had several enquiries so we are expecting this to be very successful in 2016.”
