Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (National): Business Secretary comments on career of Rolls-Royce Boss

Press Release   •   Sep 30, 2010 12:27 BST

Reacting to today’s announcement that Sir John Rose will be standing down from British manufacturing giant, Rolls-Royce, Business Secretary Vince Cable said:

“Sir John Rose has been a tremendous business leader for Rolls-Royce, driving it to world leading positions in the civil aerospace, defence, marine and energy markets.  As a champion of UK advanced manufacturing I want to thank him for the huge contribution he’s made to strategic thinking both within business and government on growing global market share.  I am sure that John, whatever he chooses to do in the future, will continue to make an important contribution to the UK's success.

“I welcome the appointment of John Rishton, as Sir John's successor at Rolls-Royce, and look forward to working with him when he takes up his new appointment in the spring.”
