Robin Williams ACA has been appointed Chair of the newly formed NHS Professionals (NHSP) Limited.
The role of Chair is essential to ensuring that NHS Professionals Ltd achieves the highest professional, business, clinical and quality standards.
Mr Williams brings long-term experience to the role having worked in corporate finance, outsourcing, support services, manufacturing, contracting and construction, IT systems and managed services. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a graduate Engineer.

Following a public consultation, NHS Professionals’ current Special Health Authority status will be dissolved on 1 April 2010, when the organisation will begin to operate as a limited company wholly owned by the Secretary of State.
Mr Williams took up his new role on 11 January 2010.

Robin Williams is Chairman of Killby & Gayford Group Ltd and remains a non-executive director of Constantine Group Plc, London Linen Supply Ltd and Maxima Holdings Plc, where he chairs the audit committee and is a member of the remuneration and nomination committees.
In a previous role, he was CEO and co-founder of Britton Group plc, Robin Williams grew the business to £250m revenues within six years, before selling to a competitor. He was then an executive Director of Hepworth Plc, with a leading role in the rationalisation and subsequent sale of the group.
Robin Williams will be working with current Chair Richard Martin to ensure a smooth transition to the Ltd company, and will be completing an induction, working with current management to learn about business and leading recruitment of new non exec board.

NHS Professionals works within each client Trust as part of the team, with local account management backed up by state-of-the-art electronic processes. Trust finance directors receive, as part of the service, comprehensive and detailed management information and access to budgetary control mechanisms within the technology platform.
Richard Martin remains Chair of NHS Professionals’ in its current Special Health Authority status until its dissolution on 1 April 2010, when the organisation will begin to operate as a limited company, wholly owned by the Secretary of State.
