Mr Graham and Mrs Violet Dugmore celebrated their 60th anniversary with their family by visiting Bournemouth and booking two of Bournecoast’s most comfortable self catering properties.
The happy couple were joined at Stourfield Lodge by their two daughters and their families who were staying just around the corner in Ocean Blue. Stourfield Lodge provided an ideal solution for the couple as it afforded easy access for Mr Dugmore via a ramp.
It also provided the relaxed accommodation expected of self catering accommodation to further enhance their stay and giving them time to just spend with the family with no time constraints.
Mrs Sharples, their daughter who booked the accommodation was helped by the Bournecoast holiday team to arrange a special surprise and flowers were delivered to the property ready for their arrival.
Alexandra Eaton, Marketing Manager for Bournecoast said: “It was a delight to meet with the whole family when I called round to take some photos. We appreciated their hospitality during our intrusion on their family celebrations and they even offered me a glass of champagne which I had to decline as I was ‘on duty’. We hope the family enjoyed themselves and made good use of the champagne that the directors and staff gifted to them.”
The family, who were visiting from Shropshire have been visitors to Bournecoast’s properties in the past and love the flexibility that staying in self catering accommodation affords.
Bournecoast was established just 8 years after Mr and Mrs Dugmore’s wedding in 1960 and the Queen’s Coronation and over it’s 52 years has been flourishing alongside the Dugmore’s marriage and HRH’s reign.
With this year’s earlier Diamond Jubilee celebrations firmly in everyone’s mind and the nostalgia this has inevitably provoked, young and old have been prompted to reflect on their memories.
Simon Tebbutt, Business Development Manager said: “Since The Queen’s Coronation, this Country has experienced some amazing changes within the housing market which are indicative of the ways in which our lives have changed. Build quality has improved but this has also brought with it a dramatic increase in house prices and an even steeper decrease in the number of new homes being built” he added.
“Nearly two in three households were without a basic hot water supply in 1947. In 1991, this proportion had fallen to one in a hundred. Households inEnglandwith a second toilet have increased from 31% in 1996 to 41% in 2007.” He added.
Home ownership has more than doubled over the past 60 years from 32% of all households inEnglandin 1953 to 66% in 2010-11 with a high proportion of property owners also investing in second or more properties for their future.
