Don’t underestimate the younger generation warns Redwood Origins

The report, based on a study conducted TNS a global research agency, they surveyed more than 2,000 people across three generations (Boomer, Y and Z), interviewing both the employed and the unemployed. The Gen Z respondents had more in common with nose-to-the-grindstone older generations, which privilege security and stability above exploration and a sense of purpose in their jobs.

The results of the study are as follows. Gen Z specifically those 15-20 reported that the top“must-haves”for their first job are:

Health insurance—70%

Competitive salary—63%

A boss I respect—61%

Furthermore, 67% of Gen Z are willing to relocate for a good job, when compared with just 52% across the other generations. The majority will also gladly work nights and weekends in order score a better salary 58%; this is compared to just 45 % of millennials.

The results of the study show that the younger generation displays many traits that contribute to an incredibly strong work ethic. Any business looking to hire them are going to reap the benefits but it is a two-way street, creating great opportunities in business for young people leads to a number of fantastic benefits for all concerned.
